Omega-3 Complex

Omega-3 fatty acids are a group of polyunsaturated fatty acids that may support a number of important functions in the body, and may provide support for cardiovascular health and joint and mental function.

Ingredients

DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid), EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid), Glycerin, Purified Water, Vitamin E (D-alpha tocopherol)

Omega-3 fatty acids (omega-3s) are a group of polyunsaturated fatty acids that support a number of important functions in the body. IDLife's Omega-3 Complex provides a natural source of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Omega-3 fatty acids play many important roles throughout the body, including cardiovascular health as well as healthy joint and mental function.

Benefits of Omega-3 Complex

Intentionally sourced and formulated essential fatty acids critical to overall cardiovascular health.

Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to help improve overall calcium absorption, thus helping support healthy and productive joints and bones.

Heart

Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential fatty acids. There are three major types of omega 3 fatty acids that are ingested in foods and used by the body: alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Fish oil contains both docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). In several randomized trials, Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA/DHA) have been shown to decrease atherosclerotic plaques and the frequency of heart attacks and strokes. A recent meta-analysis study published in the Journal of American Heart Association offers evidence of the significant protective effects of omega 3s against cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. This meta-analysis included three recently completed large-scale trials, which increased the sample size by 64%, including more than 120,000 adults in 13 randomized trials worldwide. The findings demonstrated that those that took daily omega-3 fish oil supplements, compared to placebo, lowered their risk for most cardiovascular disease outcomes, including an 8% reduced risk for heart attack and coronary heart disease death. According to the researchers, the risk reduction could translate to hundreds of thousands of CVD heart attacks and deaths averted worldwide each year.

Joints

Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to possess potent anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the production of chemicals and cells involved in the inflammatory response while regulating their migration to sites of inflammation. Most clinical studies suggest that Omega-3 fatty acids may reduce periodic pain as well as morning stiffness and tenderness in joints, while also decreasing the amount of medication needed for people with joint pain. Also, there is evidence that Omega-3 fatty acids protect against atherosclerosis and, therefore, against heart disease and stroke, abnormal heart rhythms, and possibly autoimmune disorders.

Bones

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential to human health, yet are not made by the body and must therefore be obtained from a person’s diet. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to contribute to increased calcium absorption and new bone formation. Research suggests that a deficiency in Omega-3 fatty acids may result in bone loss. Therefore, supplementation may be needed to promote bone health in individuals.

Sleep

Omega-3 fatty acids suppress the pro-inflammatory cytokines that disturb sleep, thereby reducing fatigue and anxiety so that quality of sleep is improved. Nightly use of Omega-3 fatty acids can be beneficial in providing a good night’s sleep by reducing discomfort and anxiety caused by pro-inflammatory cytokines activities. The suppression of pro-inflammatory activity by Omega-3 fatty acids has also demonstrated reduced discomfort from inflammation for those who suffer from arthritis.
